LAHORE: Halqa Arbab-e-Zouq, of which late Prof Syed Shohrat Bokhari was one of the founding members and General Secretary, is hosting an evening in memory of late Prof Bokhari at his fifteenth Barsi on October 30, Sunday (today) here at Pak Tea House.
Prof Shohrat Bokhari was a well-known writer and Urdu poet as well as teacher of many students at Islamiya College Lahore where he also served as Chairman of Urdu and Farsi Department. Prof Shohrat Bokhari donated his massive and huge library to Islamiya College during his life-time.
He was also Director of Iqbal Academy and husband of a well-known Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) associate Ms Farkhanada Bokhari. His one daughter – Syeda Maqsooma Zahra Bokhari is a Barrister, Advocate Supreme Court of Pakistan, while other – Syeda Massoma Zahra Bokhari – is an Urdu teacher. His son Syed Joo Ali Bokhari is a doctor in United Kingdom.
