KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) London members Hassan Zafar, Amjadullah Khan, Zafar Rajput and Kunwar Khalid Younus have been detained by Rangers personnel on Saturday.
They detained outside the press club as they arrived there to announce names of the persons who allegedly have joined MQM London. It was reported that the detainees were shifted to undisclosed location. Arrest of Amjadullah Khan was done right after he exited the building four hours later.
Sources privy to the coordination committee reported that the members were aware of possible arrests after they addressed their first ever press conference earlier this month.
Over 50 different offices of MQM have been either sealed or bulldozed by law enforcement agencies as a crackdown was launched following the speech that got the severest backlash to the party in its history.
