ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) said on Thursday that the by-election campaign of all political parties and candidates in the three constituencies of Sindh would come to an end 48 hours before the polling day.
The election campaign in constituencies PS-22 Naushero Feroze-IV, PS-106 Karachi-XVIII and PS-117 Karachi-XXIX would come to end after the midnight of 31 May and 1 June, including electronic and print media, the ECP said. ECP also said that any person who contravenes these provisions of law shall be punishable with rigorous imprisonment for a term which may extend to six months or with fine which may extend to one thousand rupees or with both. The commission urged the people, candidates and political parties to adhere to the law and ensure the peaceful holding of elections in a tranquil atmosphere.
